Childhood Development - "Understanding the Importance of Activities"
Caregivers play a significant role in the development of a child's social, cognitive, and emotional and physical growth. We hope sugar, spice, and everything nice will operate as positive guide to keep a child afloat in a bliss-like aura of rainbows, sunshine, and puppies. Unfortunately life does not always workout that way, even when people try their hardest to protect the child from harmful experiences that they may encounter. Sometimes families experience tragic events and/or situations that spiral downward causing either a trauma like deterioration of the stability of a family or complete upheaval normalcy in the family. Often the child are left to their own, to keep their chin up and roll with the punches. As such, the mental stress that falls upon these children interferes with their growth and development.
The resilience of child is broad and the caregiver plays an important role. If a child is in a situation whereby he or she are showing signs of mental anguish and/or mental distress then a break from the real world can significantly help a child. An activity, game, hobby, or something alike thereof, allows the child to separate his troubles and family instability stress from his mind. This activity (whatever it may be) acts like a decompress tool for the child. The activity acts as a brief escape from reality for the child. Thus, the caregiver helping the child in hobby, sport, event, or personal growth significantly benefits the child's overall wellbeing.
This activity helps child recover quickly from setbacks, stress, challenges, and the child may possibly use this activity as coping skill. Not only does this activity assist with the child's development, it can expands the child individual identity. Therefore, court has sought to encouraged caregivers to engage the child in activities.
